1960s
A journey begins. Vitangelo Puopolo migrates to Australia, bringing centuries-old Italian salumi-making traditions, laying the foundation for a rich legacy of authentic, handcrafted smallgoods inspired by the family's deep Italian roots.
1978
Puopolo opens its doors. The Puopolo family opens a small butcher's shop in Geelong. Vitangelo, with his sons Nick and Chris, begin crafting top-quality deli products, combining traditional Italian methods with a passion for artistry.
1990s
Rising demand leads to a larger facility in Laverton North. Nick and Chris step up, introducing new Italian-style pizza toppings and expanding production, solidifying Puopolo's reputation for quality.
2010s
Vito and Michael, Nick's sons, grow up immersed in the business. They take on leadership roles, energising the brand and creating a modern vision rooted in family traditions.
2015
Vito and Michael launch Artisan Salumi, returning to handcrafted roots. They focus on creating premium, small-batch smallgoods for the foodservice industry, blending tradition with a modern twist.
2020
Artisan Salumi broadens its reach, bringing their signature handcrafted products to retail shelves. The expansion makes premium, traditionally-made smallgoods available to families across Australia.
2025
Artisan Salumi products now feature in over 500 retailers nationwide, celebrating decades of dedication to quality, innovation, and the enduring Italian craft of salumi-making.
